I'm going to be at the G. R. the tail end of March for four days, never been there, wondering the flow rate vs. clarity of water and what can I can expect for that time of the year. Any help would be appreciated!

The highest I have really fished it is at 4500 cfs, but it had been falling at that point and while not clear was fishable. Had it been rising to that I've no doubts it would have been muddy. I generally like the flow from 2000 to 3500 cfs, and can figure at that flow rate the water will be in good shape. Watch the flows for a week or so before you go and it will give you a pretty good indication of what the water will be like.

Mike is right on for the flow rates and when the river is fishable. As far as what you can expect is really a day to day issue for the Rhonde in the spring time. Right now the river flows look more like a roller coaster and expect more of the same for the time you are going to be there. Just hope for a few days of stabilized weather patterns where the river stays at the same level and usually it will fish well. If the conditions are OK you could stand to have excellent fishing for the hatchery steelies, but you won't be alone.

Good luck and have fun!!
