It missed Manila or the death toll would have been higher. 190 mph w/gusts to 235? Not much is left standing.

I was talking to my uncle who has been stationed in Guam for a couple of stints. One stint was after this typhoon that had winds estimated over 240 mph.

I was living in the PI in 1972 when epic monsoons flooded everything, thousands drowned and many more thousands starved.

240 mph? Damn. Terrible stuff. Hope they get help. I still have regrets of not joining Peace Corps when I was younger. Do some good for people who need it and see the world.
