Sirfishalot,
Randy is right on, about Cottonwood creek. That's the creek that all the hatchery fish are going to come back to. It won't be hard to spot as there will no doubt be several people there fishing. If Randys' buddy really did see fish hooked on wed. then there's a good chance that the fishing will be much better this weekend as the river level is dropping now that it has quit raining for a few days. On wed. I think the river was at about 5-6000cfs while right now it is coming down to about 4500cfs and if current patters continue probably between 3500-400cfs when you arrive which isn't too bad for this time of year.
So, a lot of people fish the gawdy half ounce jig and shrimp on a slip bobber over here and they do quite well. But don't forget the corkies and spin-n-glows with some fresh eggs as some of the spots are a little more productive with drift gear. Just keep it in the water on the bottom as long as possible! Hope you get this before you head out.
Good luck
Duke
Whoops, looks like the river spiked a little on Saturday and possibly some rain coming down too. Let us know what it really looks like when you return, hope you had good luck.
