While I realize its a rather rare and specialty firearm, does anyone have any experience with a KRISS Vector CRB? Are they worth the money as the modern day equivalent "tommy gun"? For science purposes, I'd like to have a shoulder mounted, close quarters weapon (100 meters or less) with expanded capacity standardizing around my .45 ACP base platform.

From online reviews & You Tube - the angled blow back drastically reduces felt recoil and almost eliminates barrel climb (supposedly). What about ease of use, reliability, fit and finish?

Dogfish - what are your thoughts? Even if you haven't "reviewed" in person, I'd still appreciate your theoretical expertise if you care to share.

Many thanks in advance.

Buy an AR15 .45 ACP upper. $600 when you do find one.

The Kriss Vectors are super sweet. I've had a chance to do a few mag dumps on one with full auto and it was controllable in 3-5 round bursts and just holding down the trigger. Certainly better than the UMP .45 and MP10 where in full auto. 50 yards on semi I was easily able to get consistent 1-1.5 inch groups.
They are a very accurate weapon and several SWAT and Federal Agencies are using them.
A fast/accurate/low recoiling submachine gun chambered in the man stopper .45 acp cartridge is the cats meow... I'd love to get one but not until we get a SBR law in this state. A 16 inch barrel SMG style gun is just stupid looking IMO and if I where going to go that route then I'd just get a AR upper in .45 like Dogfish said.

Andy -

What are the low down basics on the bill?

Thanks for the weapon input. I haven't decided what to do yet. It's between a .45 carbine and a Kimber Montana .308. Choices...choices...

Basically getting bask to pre 94 rules, in accordance with Federal regulations.

As far a choices, get both.

Presuming this'll be your choice for chasing hoofed critters, the 7-08 option has far better external ballistics than the .30 cal. Launch some in JBM and see the obvious differences. The .284 145 gr. Barnes TTSX or 145 LRX would make anyone smile on the terminal side of the equation....

While it is a given that blunt bullets out of a .30-30 will put meat in the pot, light bulbs go on when one compares the ballistic coefficients of javelins to basketballs and their respective trajectory/retained kinetic energy. For the -08 headstamp, the 7 is a better javelin than the .30....

In the Montana, their .243 is sadly twisted per SAAMI @ 10" or it'd be a viable choice when flinging javelins in the 105 grain realm. I keep pestering Barnes to roll a 100-ish grain LRX in 6mm. And waiting....
