LOOK AT THE NUMBERS!!!

Number of replys to the beer drinking on the river post- 39 & counting. Number of replys to the Washington Angler's Alliance post- 1 (mine). No, I'm not an A-retent. I'll swig down some good Tequilla Sunrise out on the river in the proper circumstances. But the above numbers really show the collective angler resigned complacence toward sportfishing rights issues; except for inaffective whinning. Read the WAA post & get involved in large numbers & see what happens. You won't regret it! - Steve Hanson

Before you get carried away, I just want you to know that I personally e-mailed them directly and they offered to "speak" at one of our Gig Harbor Chapter PSA meetings. I do agree with you though about us sports-people sometimes caring about the wrong things. During the net ban initiative I ran into many "Sportees" that would give me all kind of lame reasons not to vote for it. Like they were afraid somebody was going to take something away from them if they hurt the commercial guys. Please any of you guys and gals.....we have a PSA meeting every 2nd Tuesday of the month and you don't have to be a member to come, even though dues are only $25.00 a year for the whole family. Feel free to E-mail me if you want more information.

HEY. these guys are right! It's been embarrassing, maybe even friggin' funny, the way WA guys drink beer, pee on themselves, liter, kill nates, then get on here & just waaaaaaa about everything but do NOTHING. Really Big One (mine too), if this site has any national exposure, these apathetic s...heads that are more interested in rapppin' beer than being involved in something like this W.A.A. are an embarrassment to our state!

Fishtick Thats an awful wide brush you have painted WA anglers with. Since particpating on this BB I have observed lots of great in-depth discussions, drinking on the river not being one of them but isn't there a social / entertainment factor in particpating here? There are obviously alot of activist anglers who post here. Maybe Bob should start screening new users..... lets see
never killed a native only serious conversationalists doesn't drink on the river proof of recent activism must bash actions of Native Americans
You could come up with all kinds of interesting and exclusive criteria. Could get ugly and lonely.
It seems like there is all kinds of room on this BB for all kinds of conversations, all serious issues will not get the play that the Snake River dam removal post received.
Now lets get out there and gently realease some wild fish.

David, Point well taken. However, the gist of my post was that I agree that the 39 to 1 count is a significant barometer of fishermen complacence. In no way did I mention we should only discuss heavy topics. Not. I love the funny stuff too. In fact that's usually the way I'll be posting. ..shtick

Beer is usually an easy subject to discuss. Fish management is not, alot of people get thier emotions mixed with opinions or beliefs, when it comes too what is a passion or way of life for a great number of people if we did not care we probably would not be part of this fantastic site. We have such a large diverse group of people who are using the power of the internet, I think alot of positive things can be done with this great tool of communication, the future is ours,we need to realise that personal agendas will not and never have worked in the favor of fish and wildlife causes.Do you ever read anything positve in fish and hunting news? when I rarely pick up an issue it seems like alot of negative venting from whiners trying to make a buck. We need more shows like Fishermans Heaven which promote and make a person feel good about what they enjoy doing. The fishing alliance is a way that we can make a changefor the better. We need leaders like Mr Bain who are willing to roll up the sleeves, quit the whining and get busy. Stay focused to the task at hand,be positive and listen work as a team. Thank You
