Yes it sucks, but highgrading is done by commercial fishers everywhere, both tribal and non-tribal.

Yeah, only difference is, is that I GUARANTEE it would be one HELL of a bust if they caught non tribals taking even a single geoduck from closed water.... There's NO question about it....

Makes me skeptical of any statitics I hear about tribal harvest.
Nets on the Skagit have yielded less than 200 fish so far........maybe.

H.R.,it seems that highgrading is an inherency of gillnetting, especially the nets with larger eyes. The biggest steelies are the ones that get stuck, while the little ones pass through.
