Has any out there besides me heard of this fly? I have to think there are others that are very similar. Check it out in "the fly of the month" feature on URL below.

It looks like a bucktail coachman, or a spruce fly with a hair wing

Yes it is very similar. Original recipe calls for brown hackle tail. I like the pheasant better.

Are you fishing this fly for steelhead?
I also like pheasant and other naturally colored materials in my flys. The have an iradecence that can not be duplicated with dyes

Can be used for steelhead or for browns when there is no hatch going on.
