Just a few fish being caught at the mouth, nothing real exciting, same goes for Cowlitz and Kalama.

Still slow. 7 fish Saturday, 5 Sunday by 1pm. Lots of boundary police activity, minimum $130.00 tickets. Willamete River a good bet when open.

Fished it Friday and it was slowwwwwww. Saw a total of five fish probably 50 boats. The Fisheries were out in force watching the boundry so be careful. They hide up river behind the pillings where they can tell if you cross the line.

Thanks for the input. One question I have had, if you hook up in the Lewis can you fight it and net it in the Columbia and still be legal??? I'll probably wait until mid month to go.

I'm told it is not legal although I have not seen any one receive a fine for it.

Limit your kill, don't kill yourm limit.

Lewis is still slow. A few boats pulled up at the crack of dawn today and there were many more later but the action has been across the Columbia, in the Willamette. Many fish are being taken, most in the 12 pound range.
Regarding the question about hooking a fish in the Lewis and then fighting it "outside" the line, a WDF&W officer I fished with a couple years ago said that it was legal. However, I'd call the region 5 office at 360-696-6211. If you get a straight answer, please share it with the board.

I heard there were only two caught on Friday from a guy fishing at the wind today. The wind was slow I would guess a fish for every five or ten boats.
