I may have to fly out to the Clackanmus area in a month or two on business, and spend the weekend. Is there any fishing opportunities for summer run steelies or springers in that area. Would be nice if I could hook up on one or two over the weekend. Would be looking around late May to end of June sometime. Thanks

The Clack should be full of springers and summer run fish in a month or two. If you're a fan of C&R there should be summer runs up into the middle and upper reaches of the system, but they'll probablly only allow nates up this year, and there should be springers up to rivermill. The clack is only open 3 days a week this year M W Sat. Hope that helps

Hawk- The Clackamas near Oregon City is a very productive river for spring chinook & summer steelhead for those that know how to fish it. If the water hasn't dropped too much by the time you here it should still be good. Call Fishermen's Marine Supply in O. C. @ (503)557-3313 for both general info on the Clack. & other area opportunities. They have a list of quality guides that work the Clack.- If I didn't have an upcoming major surgery that will cost me most of my springer season, I'd take you up the Clack. in my sled.- Hey, Willierower; did some sleds rock your Willie on the Clack. (jk = just kidding).- Steve

Steve...
No sleds rocked my Willie o the Clack.LOL= Laugh out loud...... Ive fished it from the bank at River Mill and hammered on the springers, The locals were not too happy with us. That kinda ruined me on that river. ( I guess some people dont appreciate fishing lessons???) Another tiime I fished it from a sled, Too many people for my taste..... Granted its a beautiful river, I just dont like the Metro attitude of most of the people that fish it. Im from a small town on the south coast and I like fishing in relative solitude.
