Howdy
As many of you already know we need to organize to fund the Hoh river gauge. I am hosting a meeting Monday Night at 8pm PDT online.
http://www.steelheader.net/Voice%20Chat/

This is a live voice chat, so get those microphones hooked up and working. Text chat will also be functional during meeting. You can also go to the site and test your microphone setup.

So much for that effort....one person showed up and stayed 2 minutes. Best of luck to all that follow in the effort.

Don't get too discouraged, Marty. Maybe folks just weren't interested in voice chat and/or don't have the hardware at home (my case). We've got some good response from the folks at USGS - well, at least some response. What we need now is to see if they're really interested in help from us. Let's keep replying to their mail asking what there is we can do to help and what other options besides closing this one gauge are out there.

Bruce

BTW - does anybody have any idea why the Hoh tribe is backing out of their promise to help with the funding? Please, let's not get into more Indian bashing. But that sounded like one of the big reasons the USGS is coming up short.

Not discouraged at all....I was just trying to help those that really needed it. I have plenty of contacts for river information and at the most it costs me ten bucks in gas for personal inspection.
If you ever get the hardware for you comp let me know ($3 microphone and headphones) and I will chat fishing with you. Best of all its free!! I use the technology to talk to my new friends in Australia...love those accents
