Does anyone know whether the Kalama will be open this season at any time above the second hatchery for fly fishing? What's the history on this? Thanks for any information.

The return have been so low even if for some reason it does open. I can't be good for the remaining population. A couple years ago there were only a couple hundred fish and change that were allowed thru now that it is wild fish only

T Dodge I do not know if they will open things up up there I took my son up to the holy waters to teach him how to fly fish last year before they closed it. It is a great piece of water. Barbless fly fishing only. I hope they open it again. I have allways C&Red my fish up there. It is worth every minute. I will let you know if I hear of any changes.

Just got the new reg's. 1000 ft. above fishway at upper salmon hatchery to Summer's Cr. is year-round wild Cutt. release, selective gear rules. No motors. Summers upstream to 6420 rd. Wild Cutt. release. Fly-fishing only. Open June1-March31, no motors. Closed water from 6420 rd. upstream to Kalama falls. I'm not a lawyer, but I think that's what they are. The reg's on the lower section's could stump Matlock for half a show.
