I want to change the trebles to single siwash(s) on my mag-warts. What size of siwash should I use (I do have some 3/0 gammies)? Do I install one siwash or two, if one, do I place it on the front or back split ring? I also want to place a swivel between the split ring and the siwash. What size of swivel should I use, and should it be a barrel or a beaded chain? Thanks in advance for any advice.

i have been switching my trebles to siwash for years with good results. heres the way i got em to work. first remove the treble, but leave the snap ring on the plug. next take a size 10 or 12 barrel swivel and thread it on to the snap ring on both the front and rear snap rings. hooks are usually 1/0 or 2/0 open eye siwash types. place the hook on the other end of the barrel swivel (oppisite of snap swivel) and bend the open eye closed. i put hooks on the front and rear snap rings, but you can get away with just the rear hook. the only draw back is that the front hook likes to swing around the shank of the rear hook if your not paying attention. just keep an eye on the plugs when they are being let out. i have noticed that with the double hook set up that fish dont seem to get hooked too deep. anyways thats how i got em to work, and it does not seem to effect the run of the plug.

If you want to run a single on the mag-warts start by removing both trebles leaving only one split ring on the belly. Next you can attach a large four-bead chain swivel to that belly split ring. Take the other split ring from the treble you removed and attach it to the trailing end of the bead chain. Now you can take one of those 3/0 Gammies you mentioned and crimp it on to the trailing split ring. The bead chain allows the fish to twist and roll and the single hook often hooks 'em deeper but doesn't pin their mouth shut like double trebles sometimes do resulting in a death-rolling, line-twisting breakoff.

Life is short....Fish hard!!

Ditto the previous post!! Worked great the last couple of years the Chehalis was open for fall kings. The bead chain puts the siwash right back behind the tail and doesn't seem to effect the action too much.
