I'm interested in trying Maxima's new crystal ivory line. I know I can get it through Bass(whoops-4 letter cuss word.....sorry!) Pro, in fact, that's where I found out about it.

Does anyone know of anyone carrying it in the puget sound area? It's pretty much non-existant here on the coast.

Thanks.

I ordered mine through Swains... Just about any store that carries maxima, should be able to order it.. I had mine in two days...

I've been a maxima fisher through the years and am convinced of it's superior abrasion resistance. What I want is a line more visible above the water's surface but with the abrasion resistance maxima is famous for. Crystal ivory seems to be it.

Tom, or anyone else, what are your thoughts?
Good? bad?

I have seen crystal ivory at Outdoor Emporeum here in Seattle. I had the same problem as you, trying to find a more visible line above the surface (For spoon fishing) with the abrasion resistance we all take for granted with maxima (until we spool on another line). Anyhow, I tried Trilene big game this year in the clear and I must say it is very strong, has good abrasion resistance and casts pretty well. You might want to give it a try. I started with the 15 and now use the 12.

hope that helps

Jim,

I would be interested meeting with you! As far as the line goes, 8 lb. & 12 lb. are what I need. I noticed Basspro offered it in 1000yd spools. I don't quite need that much yet so a 220 or 600 yd spool would be better but hey, I'll take what you can get.

As far as meeting, e-mail me. The only problem is this is my work computer and I'm away from it on weekends. Maybe e-mail me a phone number and I can call you.

Thanks for the offer.

Eric

Stadle, I tried the Trilene Big Game line and didn't care for it. Seemed like if it got a little age on it, it had a tendency to break easier. If you do use it, keep it fresh.
I most everyone is having good luck with the Maxima Ivory. I think I'll give it a try. Presently using the Cameleon and would like a little more visability above the water.

My opinion on it. Hmm.. Make sure you lubricate the knot before cinching it down, Spit at least, but WD-40 works AWESOME... Other than that, it's great for visibility above water, has pretty good strength, castability, etc... I did happen to get spooled on the Hoh the other day, so I had to put Izor back on, and I realize how much I missed it... Casts great, and it has so much more overall strength, and I have no problem with it fraying... MCI is still a good line though... Especially for the price!

I love the stuff that is all I can say have been fishing it for three years. GI Joes at delta park Or. Also Fishermans supply same place. I am also quite sure Bob's in Longview has it. Can only get 1000' spools.
