Fished the Wind fri.,sat., and 1/2 day sun. Total of six people in my group (2 boats) and we hooked 15 fish, landed 9. Total of 34 fishing hours per man. Saw lots of fish caught all day Saturday, good bite early Sunday morning (4 hook ups in 1/2 hour), then pretty slow thru noon on sunday. Please post future results.

I fished the wind yesterday (monday) Had heard that it was slow compared to the weekend. Got on the water at 9:30 fished till 2:00 got two real beauties my self and my partner got one all apx 20#. I would say 80 boats at least. Most were fishing the inside line close to shore. I hate that kind of pressure so we fished the out side not so many boats out there. 12' to 14' of water. Pulled a pink mag wart with shrimp oil. Saw quite a few fish being caught. I would hate to see how many would be there on the weekend . Good Luck and KEEP THE RIVERS CLEAN

We fished mag-worts' in orange or red (like everyone else). I don't think color really makes a difference, you just have to bang one on the head to piss em' off! DO make sure that the plug is tuned correctly though. I tried some trolled herring but no bites. All the fish were caught along the north coast down to the depot. I didn't see very many hooked out on the buoy line.

Just got back from 2 1/2 days on the Wind and Drano Lake. The fishing was sloooooow!! Fished the Wind Tuesday from 4:00 til 6:00 PM, saw only four caught and got blown off the water by the wind (now I know why they called it the Wind River). Wednesday from 6:30 til 10:00 AM, saw about eight caught and got blown off by a mean east wind. Went to Drano Lake Wednesday from 3:00 til dark and saw 8 fish caught, all in the circle jerk at the Hwy 14 bridge and then fished the Wind this morning from before daybreak until 11:30 AM, saw maybe 6 fish caught, the east wind came up again early but then it died off around 10:00. We talked with quite a few locals and both the fish checkers at the Wind and Drano, all said that the fishing had slowed to a crawl compared to last week and last weekend. Everything I saw caught was on plain orange mag warts. There were at least 100+ boats yesterday and today at the Wind and about 25 boats at Drano Wednesday afternoon. The scenery was beatiful and we took some great pictures of Mt. Hood so it was still a good couple of days. For those of you who have campers or motorhomes, we stayed at a very nice RV park just next to the Hood River bridge called (go figure) The Bridge RV park. Reasonable rates and very clean, about a 20 minute run to the Wind River launch. One other comment, all of the folks on the water were very courteious (with the wind it was tough conditions) and didn't see any altercations.
