The rivers usually pretty well punched in June below the Whitechuck, and especially below the Suiattle.

Steelheader boy,

The Sauk should have good numbers of late winter runs in June, however, they are all native downstreamers by that time and look and fight like old boots. I own frontage on the upper Sauk and fish it just about the year around. There is not much of a hatchery or native summer run in the Sauk. The only reason I even fish it in the summer is because I camp up there and manage my tree farm.

If you want to float it anyway and take in the beautiful scenery, then I would suggest that you launch at the mill in Darrington and take out at the Suiattle confluence. You better be experienced if you float this section as there are a lot of dead end channels, reversals, and log jams. Your cataraft should allow you to sneak around some of the bad spots.

Life is short...fish hard!!
