So glad I don't get my investing advise from a fishing bulletin board!
"The burst of buying leaves both the Dow Jones industrial average and S&P 500 at fresh all-time highs. Both indexes closed about 0.6% higher. The Dow is now less than 170 points away from the 17,000 threshold. The Nasdaq built on Wednesday's advance by soaring 1.26%, while the small-cap Russell 2000 surged almost 2%."

Our Communist Nigerian Socialist Fascist Kenyan President who hates America and the Free Market sure is schitty at destroying it.
Really schitty.
He's been really schitty at destroying it since Day 1.

Ask yourself ...who's buying? ....when you find the answer, then ask yourself, what could possibly go wrong?
Good Luck out there.

If one makes the same predictions enough times they are bound to be right eventually. But the market would need to shed something like 6,000 points to get back to where it was when the first predictions of an imminent crash were made. One of America's top investors said something like "The single biggest risk for a long term investor is to miss a major bull market." The naysayers, if they followed their own advise, made a huge mistake. One they may never fully recover from. Sorry.

I dont want that kind of money in my pocket Dave. I've Said that all along.
Just to save ya'll some time, this markets performance is absolute Collusion between the fed and it's TBTF banks propping up the market, also like I have said all along, and which is why I choose not to participate as a retail investor. As of late, The EU through its proxy national banks buys treasuries, then posts them as collateral to borrow dollars from the FED with which it buys more treasuries and stocks..and so the cycle of infinite Ponzi goes on and on. The only limit is the rotation speed of the paperwork needed to enable each cycle to complete. Then they buy "preferred" as needed or instructed. In poker, we call this "blind stealing" (where one player deals the cards to both a mark *and* another player he is working with to rig the deck)
[Bleeeeep!] them and the horse they rode in on.

Don't you put that kind of money in your pocket every time you get a paycheck?

So, you believe that the money that finds its way into your paycheck is somehow insulated from AT&T's stock market performance?
It isn't..................but do continue to pretend your paycheck money is clean while proceeds from holding AT&T stock is dirty.

So glad I don't get my investing advise from a fishing bulletin board! There might be a fishing bulletin board from which one could find profitable investing advice, however it most certainly would not be this board with it's predominant follow the leader mentality. Now knowledge is a different matter. It can be acquired in many different ways and from many different sources. Knowledge and patience are the investors friends.

Looks to me like the Rev. spell-checker needs some spell-checking himself.

For the record, AT&T is beholden to the USG to supply call records, They wouldn't do it unless they were forced to. AT&T itself spies on no one. If you doubt what I am saying you need to do your homework and understand how it all actually works.
Dan, I don't own any company stock (who would be long in AT&T..it sucks). The paycheck I earn every two weeks is wholly earned by me putting in 80 or more hours of work in. I don't see how you can tie what I earn as an employee to Company stock. Company revenues are converted into my paycheck, not dividends.

Here let me help. Work, productivity, and the profits a company makes have nothing to do with stock prices, nor do they contribute in anyway to financing stock buybacks, like att just authorized, so generating the revenues plays no part in any market related transactions att engages in. Got it. I realize that you may be perplexed, but really all that I did was to delete a half of dozen periods, and insert a comma. But not in that order. I understand that you are young and eager to learn. Oh I almost forgot.

Got it.... To me its clear that the points I make about how phony, rigged, and unethical the market is are ignored by most here, because they are facts which cant be argued. And since everyone likes to argue here, the game is to obfuscate anothers position with a straw man/tu quoque argument rather than reply to my points made. Im not terribly surprised really. Yes, I work for a publicly traded company, but I will not become a retail investor. I make my all money the old fashioned way, by earning it. If I choose to invest it will be in real estate or anything OTHER than stocks. That distinguishes me differently than those who engage in profiteering from maniuplated, rigged, and fundamentally broken securities exchanges, which I have said over and over I choose not to participate with on principle alone. That is my only point here.

I don't argue your points because I know you are totally locked into your beliefs, and there is no point arguing with a zealot. Central banks have tried to manage economies for decades. If you wanna call that some sort of unethical game you can, but you would AGAIN be wrong.
But don't tell us how you are holier than thou, cuz you simply ain't. What you are is simply wrong and now looking for cover for your very erroneous predictions.
You want obfuscation? How about your original point when this came up three years ago. I saw no mention of a rigged market, only your certainty the market was about to tank. I don't wanna take the time to find your remarks, but will unless you retract your insulting insinuation that of all of us who invest in Americas companies are somehow immoral money grubbers.
That job you have would disappear tomorrow if everyone stopped buying ATT stock .
