I will be moving to Sequim, WA in a few months. I have been and wish to continue fishing and would like information on the stream, river and lake fishing in the area. Mainly what I am looking for is locations and travel distances and boating equipment needed.

I was born, raised and still live here on the Peninsula. Here are some of the local attactions...Couple hours west are the Soleduc, Hoh, Elwha rivers that have lots of fishing opportunites banking and drift boating (not sled water). Small lakes available Sutherland, anderson, Leland among a hand ful of others. Big Water...straits 5 minutes depending on where in sequim you live. Neah Bay 2.5 hrs drive. 20+ ft boat needed. Mostly trout, salmon and steelhead opportunities near the sequim area. There are some excellent halibut opportunities with a larger boat. Of course to the south is the National Park with even more oportunities Tell me what you want to fish for and I will get you pointed in the right direction. The most remarkable aspect of Sequim, is it's location in the Olympic Mt. range rainshadow (banana belt). It's been recently by-passed on 101 which is super cool compared to crawling on pins & needles through town. (P.A. next?) The action within a couple hour's drive is more to sample than years can cover. Read the new Reg.s carefully with the aid of a DeLorme Gazetteer, so you can fish with complete peace of mind. Your going to Love it.

I agree, but... easy on the praise, guys. The whole world is already moving here as it is! Notice all the Texas plates on vehicles lately? Don't understand the connection, but they're all over the north peninsula. Let's not get "Issaquahed!" BTW, the rainshadow is only a couple miles wide.

Dick Its actually the Sequim Chamber of Commerce who is promoting the place to everybody. They send out press releases regularly hoping to catch the eye of the national publications. If anybody wants to know Dicks favorite holes just email me.....hehe. Just kidding. Tight Lines ------------------ Martywww.steelheader.net marty@steelheader.net
