Well, the family trip has been planned. We are going to spend a week near Depot Bay Oregon around the 3rd week of July. What fishing opportunities are in this area. Salt or Freshwater?

There is going to be an offshore coho quota that should be going still in late July, but I would call ahead about that. Depoe Bay has plenty of charter boats if you aren't towing one down- has the smallest "bar" on the coast that is fun.- Summer steelhead will be up in the nearby Siletz and Alsea rivers. I suggest you also call ahead to local tackle shops about details. Good luck, it's a beautiful area.

Like REEL TRUTH said, There will be Summer stealhead in the Siletz, The upper gorge is only open to the public on the weeends.
Just south of Depoot bay is Yaquina Bay. There is usually quite a few rock fish there. The south jetty is where to go. If you bring along your own boat try fishing the fingers along the south jetty at night. Its pretty safe but use lots of caution only fish here at night n an incoing tide. In the past we have kicked butt on black sea bass in there.
