Just returned from the Queen Charlotte Islands, Langara Island to be specific, and completed the quest and dream of many a fisher: landing a 50+ lb. Chinook. 54 lb. to be exact. For those seeking open-water fishing for salmon from relatively small boats (17') - it's hard to beat this most northwesterly point of British Columbia. Since much of the fishing is catch and release (my better half and I released +25 in 4 days), a fish calculator comes in handy. I created one in Excel using the formula found here and elsewhere on the Internet, and would be glad to share with anyone who cares. It prints out neatly on 8.5 x 11 paper. Can't figure out how to insert or attach the file here, so if interested, post your e-mail addy here or write to me: currentdrifter@hotmail.com
