GREAT NEWS!!!!!

Question: I see that the lake will be closed for 4 tribal net fisheries. Wouldn't it be more cost effective and better quality of catch if the tribes just simply dip net in the locks for the sockeye?

The dip netting would avoid closure of the sport fishery and avoid net impacts on threatened or endangered Lk. WA. Chinook.

I had a tourist lunch over at the fish ladder this afternoon to check out the action and it was pretty amazing. Every window was stacked top to bottom with sockeye. Outside, some were jumping two steps at a time up the wier. Hell of a show and a nice way to enjoy some fish and chips.

I heard from someone inside WDFW yesterday that, if the numbers support it, there's a good chance bag limits will be increased above the two fish limit mid way into the season.
