Anyone have some tips on how and where to fish for the sockeyes? I would be driving down from Everett, which would be the best place to launch a 16' boat.
Thanks in advance!
Ed

Where to launch? Anywhere you find a waiting line of trucks and boats less than 10 miles long! You might do best to launch in Everett and motor through the ship canal. Seriously, though, expect mobs and bedlam...
If you make it to the lake, look for guys with fish finders, or dense masses of boats in the hotter areas.
Good luck!

I recommend taking a small boat with an electric motor that you can lunch right fromthe grassy beach. This will save you about two hours waiting in line to launch at the boat lauch.

Fou years ago, for some stupid reason, SPD blocked off the ramp at the pits. There was one hell of a line to launch. Luckily I had a little aluminum in the back of my truck. Alls I had to do was carry it to the beach to launch. Needless to say, after people saw that, off came the trailors from the hitches, and people started running their boats and trailors straight down to the beach.

Hopefully that stupid afternoon concert won't be going on again this 4th, requiring SPD to place up road blocks again.

What worked for me in 96' was two red 2/0 gammies tied close together with a flo red corkie in the middle 15 - 18' behind a 0 or 00 chrome dodger. 4 in 2 trips with that setup. I also have heard that black and blue work but good luck finding them, I will resort to the handy can of testors spray paint and make em'. I launched at Atlantic City, I think I was getting to the launch at about 3:45 AM and there was still a line, another 15 minutes and there was a huge line behind me. The lot was full but you could park about a block away at Rainier High. There is some good info over at www.washingtonlakes.com
Tight lines, Jeff
