Anybody hear how the last few Muckleshoot test fisheries did? I know the bay is open this weekend, but I'm wondering about the weekend of the 11th-13th. Also any reports from the West side of San Juan Island? Just wondering if the Kings have showed in any numbers and if anyone has stumbled across any resident silvers up that way..

Look at the WDFW link... www.wa.gov/wdfw/do/newreal/jul2700a.htm
Understand the Muckleshoots did well on their test fishery - can't remember exactly where I read that. Looks like there's 2 time slots...noon Aug. 4th through noon Aug. 7th, and noon Aug. 11th through noon Aug. 14th. I may try it with a friend on Friday the 4th. I'll post back my results if I go.
Good luck - Mark.

There is some hope that the season may even be extended beyond the 2 weekends already set to be open. The link also says that enforcement will be out in unprecedented numbers. Please be sure and report all SNAGGERS promptly!
Hah! fishrman posted the link while I was trying to respond.
We are planning to be out o dark 30 Sunday.
Good Luck!

Kiro, Channel 7 television, had a little story on the Elliot Bay opening for Chinnook, nice tidbit but they said the bay opened today (Thursday) when it actually opens noon Friday tommorow the 4th. I wonder how many guys are fishing out there today because Kiro said it was alright?

Any tips/advice from those familiar with the Elliot Bay fishery? I know the areas further north, but not Elliot Bay. Best bet a flasher and hoochie or spoon? Or is it a mooching show? Do the fish run deep?

A chance I might get out there tomorrow. Thanks in advance for any help.

Fish up high early in the morning under the bait balls, as the sun starts shinning bright, usually around 8:30 in the morning, go deep young man! Pay attention to the fish finder and target the schools. Herring, hoochies (speckle back green), and Coyote spoons (green/glow) all work well. I usually troll, but have caught a few mooching over the years, but the bay is usually full of leader destroying hake!

Watch out for the Coasties they love to do random safety checks, so make sure you have your life preservers and other safety gear!!!

Good Luck!! See you out there!
