went coho fishing at deception pass state park. used herring and bobber and a buzzbomb, but didn't catch anything. when is the best time to catch them and what could i have done wrong? has anyone else tried fishing there. any information will be appreciated

Ebb Tide:
Don't fish the ebb tide in the pass except at the eddy on the north side of Whidbey, just west of the bridge (otherwise known as the "hole". It may be quite a cast but that is where the fish stack up.

Also, on the ebb, try off West Beach.

Flood Tide:
Here you can try along the pass on the North Side of Whidbey, West of the bridge.

Never have seen anyone do any good from the beach fishing except when there is about 2,000,000 humpies running for the Skagit....
