Looks like part Mosquito and part ME-262. Vaporware, methinks.

It all boils down to this - I'm right, everyone else is wrong, and anyone who disputes this is clearly a dumbfuck.

The top one is a Fieseler Storch. Bottom is a Pilatus Turbine Porter.
I'd never heard of c/22's Westland Whirlwind before - looks like a Mosquito, but with guns.

Pilots who flew the Whirlwind really trusted them, there was just one generation so the Mk1 in brit/speak was it.
In service from 1940 - 43 with 112 examples built.
Four 20mm canon mounted in the nose w/ 60 rounds per gun.
Brought the fight to German E- boats in the English chanel, also mixed it up with the usual suspects from the Luftwaffe.

My dad was in the Air Force a long time ago and maintained his pilots license until recently. Later in life, he became friends with a Richy Rich pilot who flies a restored P-51 in airshows. He took my Pops up and let him have the stick for a bit. There is nothing like the sound of a P-51.
He also got to fly in a Super Hornet and Tomcat before the Navy shut that down due to 9-11. Not sure if you can sense my jealousy through the keyboard, but it is strong. All I got to do was get on the Hornet flight line for a bit and also crawl through a decomissioned Tomcat. The coolest part was climbing up into the Tomcat's afterburners. I'm 6'1" and I could almost stand up inside. Those old F-14's are HUGE.

Old family friend was a commercial pilot. Flew 747's all over the globe. He'd share some pretty amazing stories but he really lit up when he regaled us about the time he took a Mustang up. The scant instruction he got was "don't push her too hard before you're airborne." Apparently, the torque from those old Allisons was enough to give a pilot with a heavy hand a good view of the runway....

The sensations one experiences in a high performance fighter aircraft has no equal. I'm not talking about level flight, but rather dog fighting in the back seat of a F4 Phantom. Even though the cockpit is air conditioned, you will be sweating buckets, tunnel vision, gray outs, high G's, unlike any thrill ride you have ever experienced. 30 minuets of air to air combat makes one feel like they have been pulled through a knot hole backwards.
