Yes!!! I was down there protesting this morning. It wasn't only about the pier, its about the state screwing us out of fishing opportunity we deserve. Mark our spokemen did a great job!!!!There were talks of a class action suit agaist the state for the so called 50/50. The sportsmen get the shaft everytime, after the fact the indians slayed em'. Are issue as of now though is denied access. We dont want to start off with the issue of indian netting because WDFW wont listen. Its great the sporties are starting to get our foot in the door to be heard by the media and general public. A move not just for the pier but to reflect on what the hell wdfw has been doing for years. Screwing the sporties~!

If anyone hasn't heard, WDFW is supposed to be holding a "briefing" on the Elliott Bay closure, at the Seacrest pier, 7 pm tomorrow (Monday eve). Good chance it'll be covered by the local news, so a good angler turnout will help to emphasise the degree of the problem.

Thank you! But it was a great thing to be out there. And we at the pier are like one big family. Every nationality, rich, poor, young and old all showed up. Exept PSA, WDFW, and the muckets decided not to come. Please if you have the time come down and show your support. Remember we are starting to get our foot in the door and not just for the pier. The news did a horrible job editing leaving out key points. But great of them to give us some air time.

I went to a few protest at the Capital in Oly. a few years ago to "END TREATY ABUSE" and the same happend. they came up with some off the wall idea that we were protesting against the indians killing elk near Mt. St. Hellens because tourist might get caught in the cross fire!! What was with that? it was nothing to do with the point we were trying to make. but as you have seen they will take soem thing and make their own story from it. just remember that the next time you are reading the paper or see something on the evening news. it's a bunch of lies based on a bit of trueth.

My fault folks, I've been out of the loop. Spent Wed, Thurs and Fri floating the Hoh for summer-runs. My wife didn't bother giving me an update on this unfortunate turn of events when I called Seattle. When I flicked on the computer last night a.d.pose emailed me on the protest, too late to do anything. Rainycity we'll hookup one of these days. BK good job on keeping the BB updated.

BK, it was good to see you down there for the protest, even if it didnt get the coverage we all thought it deserved. I thought my wifes sign was pretty cool, it did get on the 5 o'clock news pretty good. see you tommorow night for the shindig with the WDFW, oughta be a whole bunch of smoke and mirrors thats for sure.....congrats to mark on a job well done!..KUDOS my friend, and to everyone else for participating.
