Yes, got my first steelhead on a flyrod this morning on the N. Fork of the Stilly, nothing like it. A nice 8 pound hatchery fish picked up my #4 Skunk, took me around 15 minutes to land. Man my knees are still shaking.

Now that im done bragging anybody have a good Steelhead recipes? I plan on cookin er on the Bar'b'Que but I have no idea what to put on it.

Hey congrats, I grew up flyfishing then graduated to more productive methods. actually theres nothing quite like the fight of a nice ironhead on a flyrod. as for recipes I love to fillet my catch than smother it with butter, top it with onions bacon and johnys seasoning, wrap it in foil and throw it on the bbq, or in the oven at 350 for 20 minutes or so (drool).

Buzzerbaby, what do you consider more productive than a fly rod? I caught my largest steelhead on a fly rod, but I agree with you: There are more productive methods.

Congrats ... if you weren't hooked before, now you definately are! Now, I guess I'm just going to have to take a month off to go do the same now that you got me all excited
