Fishing never seems to be any good right before a rain storm in the winter or during a high wind. I think that has something to do with barometric pressure?? Ive heard that fishing is best when the pressure is dropping.

In my experience, our best bite comes either the day before or a few hours before the arrival of a front ... usually once an incoming front actually sets in, things slow quite a bit.

Lester, I made apost much like this one on the IFISH board earlier today, haven't gotten much of a reply yet. I am curious about the days following a storm, this weekend we have a front moving in on Friday, and was curious about whether once this front sets in and is in place, will the fishing pick back up even though the barometric pressure is still low?

Lester, are you going to be at the Klick this weekend? IF you see a bright green fishrite, or a banky at milepost 17 on the oposite side of the river from the road, thats probably me. Any word on the fishing up there?

TFANN,
I am going to Portland this week-end,but I will be there next week-end. I have been on the Klick for the past six weeks. The fishing has been steadily getting better with the Steelhead bite going really strong. We have been catching three wild fish to every one hatchery brat. This past Saturday was the first time this year that I have seen "lot's" of Salmon rolling and jumping, but the bite was off. I think it was a low pressure front. The water was great with about 24" visibility.Out of six boats I saw one steelhead and one jack.Good Luck, lester
P.S. look out for a black Thor-Built in the up coming weeks and say HI.
