Took a whole week for this one. Been looking forward to it for about a year now. Kev, where will you be, at the zoo or down in the combat zone? See you all there.

Took a walk today on the trail along the Carbon. Wanted to see how dirty the water was and how much the path had changed due to the floods last year. What did I see but fifty people getting started a day early. --- It looks like this will be a zoo again.

Ted,

We were down there friday doing a little combat fishin. We caught four between three of us. Let one go that was foul hooked and took home two 25lbs hens and a 17lbs buck. Hook into the strongest fish I've fought yet long line releasted him though. See ya out there might go tommorow or monday.

I was there at 3am for the opener. There were hundredes of people. Four of us took 2 hens a piece by 9am. Hooked and released a bunch more, snapped a bunch off too. Bite really took a dive at 10am. Went back yesterday and its really fished out. There are still a few around but they certaintly aren't stacked in there like cord wood. Lost 1 in 20min decided to leave. Fished BC got limits for 4 in less than 3 hours.

Kevin,
Fished all day friday, 5AM till about 4:30 PM. Landed 7 and long line released another 3. Kept a nice buck that scaled out at 33lbs.
He now sleeps in my freezer. Went back saturday for another go around and got one hook up in 4 hours of steady fishing. He also sleeps in my freezer. In case any one is wondering, I keep only those fish that are hooked on the INSIDE of the mouth. I don't bother to ask them if they actualy intended to BITE my hook before I bonk them on the head. This fishery is about providing an oportunity to those nimrods who wouldn't otherwise get out and enjoy this sport. This is NOT "river runs through it" pretty type fishing. This is meat fishing pure and simple. I've said it before and it bears repeating now, The true measure of a mans character lies in how he behaves when no one is looking.
This rant is not directed at Kevin, I should go back and look for who actually ticked me off with the judgemental attitude. But, life's too short.
Kevin, where were you fishing at. I looked but didn't see you Friday or Saturday.
Since I have this next week off work, I intend to be back there, trying to put some more meat in my freezer.
