A 1-17 conference record entitles the Coogs to a well earned participation trophy, and ice cream cones for all. Some teams go to Disneyland; this team goes to Dairy Queen.

Shout out to the Husky women for their win over ranked Stanford last night. Huskies had a double digit lead at the half. That lead was cut to two points with a couple minutes to go. Huskies held on to take the game 73-65. Husky guard Kelsey Plum became the all-time leading scorer for Washington women during the game. Four Washington starters played the entire game; their center rode the bench for four minutes due to foul trouble. The number one seed, Oregon State, is up next for Washington. At least the Husky subs are well rested.

Good luck to the Huskies. And may USC be unceremoniously dispatched.

The Dawgs were picked to finish with the Coogs at the bottom of the Pac. We got off to a fast start and now our youth is showing = inconsistencies. Big games and big situations you need leadership and experience. Andrews is it... Two of our freshman have only been playing ball for 4-5yrs. Next year we will win the league and be playing in the sweet 16. 03' - 11' the Dawgs had either won league/tourney, and the ncaa in 7 of 9 seasons. I believe this team is set to make a good run......soon

I think the Huskies will need to find another big man to be a national contender. A big man like Welp, McCulloch, or Schrempf to mess up the middle of the floor. It's been awhile since they've had a good one.

#9 Orygun 23-6 That Dana Altman turned out to be a good'n. Hence my frustration with Romar. Has the #6 recuited team in the country and we risk missing a tourney bid. So many tight games lost at last minute because it was obvious the players had no plan. That falls on the coaching staff. The other coach who has done well is Larry Krystkowiak on Utah. A bit over amped once in a while but his players know exactly what the goal is. 5 games today to wrap up the season and then Wednesday they put it on the table in Vegas Utah has three seniors and two juniors backing up Poeltl. Once the game film got out Andrews getting to the line late to win games turned to whatever it takes to make sure Andrews doesn't win the game and put the ball in the freshmen hands. Which has not worked out terribly well since both Murrey and Chris are somewhat one dimensional at this time. I'm glad your not the AD. You'd have fired Krystkowiak a year ago . And remember the Dawgs were picked 11th in the preseason so I have a very hard time calling this a bad year for Romar! In fact after watching this team in the pre season going one on five all game long I'd say they are much better now than they were early in the season. But it does suck when that doesn't transpire in wins, especially in close games. Still one of the funnest and hardest working teams I've ever watched. I love their never quite attitude.

It's been awhile since they've had a good one. They've got a 6-10 275# stud from New Zealand red shirting this year. He didn't get cleared until Jan hence the red shirt. His name is Sam Timmons and he reminds me a little of Brockmen in that he doesn't dribble and head fake and all that other garbage inside. Just catch, turn and layup. He's going to be very good. Add the top 10 kid from Virginia and the Dawgs will be adding even more talent next year. Throw in the fact that local High School talent is coming off a decade of crappy talent and I feel real good about the future Husky basketball.

Forgot about Brockman. He was a workhorse. Gonna be interesting to watch this team develop over the next couple of years.

Brockman was kind of like Lonnie Shelton. I think every team needs an enforcer.

Brockman was kind of like Lonnie Shelton. I think every team needs an enforcer. I do have found memories of Maurice Lucas, the quintessential "Enforcer" and admittedly (by Dr. Jack) hired for that role. The game is changing, though. If the opponent can bury you in points (ala GSW), an enforcer doesn't matter.

Lucas would put you on your ass if you came down the lane. Remember Fortson when he played with the Sonics? He would use his 5 fouls in 10 min or less. A bunch of sissies play in the NBA now.

I remember in 77 during the championship game with the 76ers, Darrel Dawkins was ready to put the hurt on Bobby Gross, when out of nowhere a fist comes up to the back of Dawkins head and he went down like a bag of dirt.
