My parents just moved down to Washougal just a few minutes away from the Washougal river and they took my computer with them. I am trying to get a new computer soon, but I still have the same email address and phone numer for a while. I went down to visit them this weekend and made a stop by the Kalama river to check up on product sales at Prichards and to see how the fishing was. I seen a whole crap load of vehicles at the lower campground and stopped by to see how things were cooking. Man were they cooking alright, must have been 150+ guys fish the same whole with tandem 3/0 gamys and huge corkies, everyone was setting hook every other second and complaining that they missed that one, or missed him again, and whatnot. I did see one silver hooked by 4 different people and nobody was going to give in, they were all reefing on it, finally the guy with the biggest and baddest line took control of the fish bringing him to the surface and then proceeded to pull him on the surface into the shore, grabbing him by the gills and damn near ripped off his head. So can anyone tell me where the gamies are? I mean hell you can see this type of crap happening from the highway, where are the stators? Thats right he was busy pulling me over for tinted license plate covers, tires that stick out to far, and so forth, I am sure glad that he could hunt down one fellan for the day... Just thought I would share that with you guys...

Andy thanks for the post. The whole thing has been pissing off me also. I mean this is just bull. If the state needs money for fish and wild life this is where they should be. They could get enough money to run a hachery for a year. I have been fishing the area below the camp for the past couple days with rvrtramp and we have landed four fishing legally. I was just about to call the "man" about this when he drove up. Hope he got real busy.
By the way I saw your rags at Prichards they look good I will get some next time I am there.

did you happen to report this to F&W. It does work to report law breakers. I reported a guy on the Lewis which later lead to an arrest. ( didn't show up for court).
Secondly, I am under the impression that state patrol only takes over game warden status on the weekend or after regular F&W business hours. There are only a few F&W sergeants to a very large area ( unfortunately they can't be everywhere)
