Lester,
I like to fish the mouth on up to the deep pool trolling for Silvers, Kigs and Steelhead. I also fish the bank below fisher Hill bridge and severall other spots up river. I was there last week and the water started to cloud up due to the warm weather and snow melt from Mt Adams. Do you fish the Klick from a boat fro Silvers? They usually do not show up till sometime in October but I fish White Salmon River for Steelhead and there are Silvers everywhere in their. The only problem is that you must release all fish that are not clipped and just about all the fish I have caught there are unclipped. I believe you can keep either or on the Klick. This does not make much sense to me. Anyway, have you heard any news about the Silver fishing on the Klick from the mouth on up? Any info would be greatly apprciated. I plan on going this Monday.

Sambo, I do fish the mouth on up for silver's out of my jetboat.Usually it's a about mid-October before I get down there because that's when the silver's are there in any kind of number's, but they could be early this year.I haven't heard of anyone catching Silver's on the Klick yet, but that doesn't mean they are not.I'm still concentrating on King's and Steelhead further up the River.lester

Hey SAMBO stlhdr1 here, have I ever met you on the white salmon during july and august when the steelhead are in. I drive a 1999 ford F-250 powerstroke ex-cab, black with a lift and 35" mud tires. We killed the steelhead down there this year with 15-25 fish days on eggs. I've never been down there for the silvers are they all the way up into the actual BIG WHITE SALMON RIVER where the first few riffles dump into the lake? And how well do they bite eggs, spinners, etc?

Sambo..Went down to fish the Klickitat Wednesday and it was all mud! Just turned to mud over night for some reason. It's just now starting to clear up again. The Chinook fishing is the worse I've seen it for quite a few years. Silvers haven't showed up yet but should anytime now. Don't want to even guess how the run is going to be. Can't keep the wild ones this year and the guys fishing the bench on the White Salmon have been catching about 1 clipped Silver out of about 12 caught. Not good.

Leadhead, I think most of those unclipped coho are hatchery fish from indian hatcheries way up the Columbia. So if you're fishing on the edge of the Columbia, like the bench or the mouths of the Wind or the Klick, you're likely to see a lot of them. But if you fish up the river I'd guess you'd most likely see clipped coho heading for the hatchery in the canyon. Hope so anyway.
These cold nights must be clearing up the river by now, so hopefully chinook fishing will pick up. If the flow comes up to over 900 cfs or so I'll be floating it. A little skinny for the most part for my old boat so far this year. Let me know if you're interested in going out.

Stinkfoot..Sounds great. If I'm not working I'm there. I think you're right about the Silvers being Indian plants. Talked to WDFW and they don't know where they came from. The Klickitat looks good now as far as calrity, but is still pretty low.
stlhdr1..If you are talking about fishing above North Western Lake, No salmon up there Condit dam is what makes the lake. There was talk of removing it, but havn't heard much about it latley. Just throw spinners from the bench for the Silvers.

Stlhdr1,
I do not think we have met at Underwood. I fish it real hard all from August til the middle of September. The Silvers are all over the place especially from the boats on the side of the river upstream about 1/4 mile. We hooked several in a short period of time trolling wiggle warts. We only got one keeper out of the fish we caught and when I go again next weekend, I am going to put a single barbless hook on my wart. Those trebles are not good for those fish especially since you have to release most of them anyway. Tell me where and how you fish your eggs at underwood. you can e-mail me at gregs @ci.kennewick.wa.us I would be willing to share fill you in on some things there as well.
