OK there are more silvers in the lower river than I have ever seen!! There is a good bite early but when is 70 and bright sun you will have to work for them. Vibrax spinners and small flatfish. When it rains this weekend you workin guys should go give em a go!! And thke a kid they will have a ball!

KB, I too, am suprised at the numbers of Silvers. Ive never been so frusterated in my life, when there are fish after fish jumping around me, and they wont bite anything(lol). Ive tried tossing all kinds of hardware, eggs, you name it... Lockjaw fever! Fishing has been very slow for me and a lot of the people ive been talkin to.
IF we get some rain, WATCH OUT!!!!

I am not sure this will work for you but it has opened some jaws for more me last year. Number 4 agilia silver spinner blade with a orange one side and yellow on the other side egg weight using a number 2 gammie not the si wash. I had some good results when others werent getting bites. I used the #2 gammie octo and not the siwash because I did not have any siwash with me at the time. good luck

Their are lots of fish Holding from the Mouth at Everett all the way up to where the Highway 522 Bridge crosses the Snohomish. Currently the largest concentrations are in the lower 50% of that stretch. Their are probably a few that have made it above the Hwy 2 bridge by now.

I was there Fishing the lower Snohomish from my sled. I was filming with my fishing partner. We hit 7 real nice chrome silvers. The fish are rather big this year, whats up with that, has Mark McGuire been giving them his roids? All of our fish were 10 lbs +.
Anyways we watched fish flop all day long. There were a couple of bankies that hooked fish from the shore. One guy lost his because he was using 4 lb test and didn't expect to see silvers that big. There were about 5 or 6 other boats in the area during the morning, too bad they didn't wait for high tide. The tide brought in alot more fish.
One of the other boats took a 6 fish limit between 3 guys.
I have a tip for the shore fishermen. Cast up stream, wether the river is in reverse when the tide comes in or wether its going out. always cast WAY up the current. You will have a better chance of hooking up. Salmon have a tendancy to take lures/baits that go with the flow.
Most of the fish were lower in the snohomish. We ran all the way up to 522. the river is rather low above snohomish, it was really tricky getting my sled across some of the shallow gravel bars. I can't wait for rain! Rain will make trips alot less stressfull. Not to mention alot more fish.
Some folks up by Thomas eddy were trying to snag the old pinks with buzz bombs sitting in the whole there. Shame on you!
Anyways! Couldn't ask for better weather!

I fished the Sky today right above the Lewis bridge (compliments to Buds for the tip.) Five casts yeilded a 14# buck, chrome and slightly pinkish, but a beaut. Literally 15 more casts, with a slow retrieve along the bottom, I nailed a another Buck, This one @ 10#'s. My day was over in 30 minutes!!! Cant wait for more rain and another chance to get out there...
Used a #4 chartruse Vibrax on both. WDFW was out there checkin everyone, so make sure to mark your fish immeadiately, luckily I did, others werent so lucky.

Ok guys I have a question about fishing with ****nites. I usually fish them just like a corky, bounce them along the bottom untill a fish hits or supposed to hit. I don't know I've never caught a fish like this, am I doing this wrong? Are you not supposed to bounce the pencil lead along the bottom? Anyways thought I would put a bug in everyones ears and pick you brains a little. How do you have success with these lures? Tight lines, see ya!

For ****ies only occasional bounces along the bottom (1 or 2 per drift) and use a long leader (at least 5 ft) so it will flutter in the current without settling to the bottom before the end of your drift. Slooowww retrieve in real slow water. In slow deep holes, particularly where the fish are rolling, I won't bother bouncing bottom; just use enough lead to cast where the fish are, let it sink some, and just swing it through the drift.

Try a green-n-yellow buzz bomb. Remember the trible is illegal.
