It depends where your fishing. In the river? Or is it in salt?. Try hoochies behind a dodger or herring if on a boat. From shore or Pier try Buzz Bombs or Dart (candle fish) Anchovey. Herring on a Bobber with about 6 to 8 ' leader, try for fresh Herring if you can.
In the River I like using spoons and spinners.

for river fishing i would stick with the hardware,no5 blue fox is my favorite, all spinners, wiggle warts, hot shots,steelies,will get you plenty of silver action. good luck
