Cold Sweat: Dawgs vs Ducks

Hey Mike (Osprey), I just woke up in a cold sweat from a terrible nightmare: Ducks ahead entering the 4th quarter of a defensive gem of a game 14 to 7. First play in the last quarter the UO QB goes down and stays there . Out. After the stalled drive a pumped up UW offense grinds out a tying score with Tui running the option to perfection like only he can. 14 to 14. Why didn't he run another option for a 2pt. conversion? Would have been stuffed in the crunch, so they knew better. More D dominating the field the rest of the quarter. Then it happens; the backup Duck QB trainwrecks a last chance drive by throwing an interception right over the middle into double coverage. Cold sweat man. Tui has 50 seconds to drive. On the do or fry 3rd and long the refs call pass interference on the Ducks! At Autzen yet! 2 more option sweeps puts the lucky dogs Dawgs on the 28 with 3 seconds left and timeout. After a Duck timeout to frost the kickers ass a little, he nails the field goal as the clock and the Ducks go down. AAAAAARRRRGGGG...snap... I woke up in this cold sweat and realized it was a Dawg night bad dream! Whew! I wanted to find out if I have ESP, so I came downstairs to post the nightmare at 3:30 a.m. Check the post time listed above in case it comes true. .....Nah, won't happen. It's gonna be a Dawg gone day at Autzen. You Washington dudes that read this before noon better take this advice: go fishing! You watch the crylights on the 5:00 news about the Duck's 27 to 22 Viceroy victory when you come home . - RT [This message has been edited by Reel Truth (edited 09-30-2000).]

Hey RT: Don't want you to get the sweats so just look at it this way......the Huskies are going to bury them! Now that you know the outcome....you can relax Now, on the other hand, I am a once-again proud Oregon State Beaver alumnus since Dennis Erickson got the ball rolling there. They've got all my support and I hope they send USC home to sunny southern cal crying!(at least I think that's who they're playing) Go Beaves!!! Eric, actually the Ducks come 2nd for me because my daughter started her 2nd year OSU this week. So ya, go Beavs! I went to the Cal game at Corvallis last year on Dad's weekend and watched a thriller win for Erickson's crew. The frat party we went to afterward was even more fun than that . Can't wait for this year. 2 weeks from this one. BTW, it's timeout and the Ducks are takin' care of biz . - RT [This message has been edited by Reel Truth (edited 09-30-2000).]

Well now Wizard of Os, looks like that microphone you woofed into behind the Green curtain in the Emerald City (of Eugene) has been pulled, exposing all that Dawg poop that was yours on the other BB. It must of been what gave me the fantasy nightmare. Sure glad my awakened prediction came true. If the inept twin of the normal Duck FG kicker hadn't shown up in his place and left 13 points off the scoreboard, to properly reflect what took place on the field, my 27-22 "spread" would have been covered by 15 instead of 2. Well, there's always next year .... for you to remember this year . See ya in 2002 in the land of the Os. - RT

RT, congrats. to you and the Ducks. I love the Huskies but I think they were over-rated. That being said, enjoy your moment of glory, the ducks didn't show me that much either, think I'd wait till Dec. to buy tickets to Pasadena. Oh, by the way, hows your MLB team doing this weekend? who's your NFL team play? Oh thats right, Oregon fans are stuck with the Blazers. Could be worse though, right B-Run.

Ak, no gongrats earned by me. I didn't play or coach. I was just returing some much earned woofin' to Osprey. All in fun. I actually have to root for the Beavers now . Things are improving fast there though. Later. - BTW, cities are more important to me than the players that come into town to play there. If I could just somehow remove 40 % of the traffic, my 3 favorites in order are Vanc. BC 1st, Seattle 2nd, and Portland 3rd. Don't tell anyone from Oregon . Traffic and beaches considered, it's about a 3 way push. - RT

You quack more than real ducks Os! Now you are hangin' your shaken pride on some OBVIOUSLY rediculous poll that flys in the face of the rest of the polls and against reality (did they watch the spanking on the field and the game yardage stats - don't think so)? And Duck fans were scared? I think sick of their kicker who left 13 points off the board would be much more accurate! You must have been stung into some kind of fog by this thing! It's only a game Os. And played by other people, not you. Lighten up and get into something more important, like fishing .

Thank you Osprey. Lots of games still left. Ducks vs. Trojans at SC, we'll see if they can win the big one on the road?
