In Sunday Seattle Times, check out the article on new tangle nets that let netters catch fish alive and "throw back" ones that are wild.

Article says state is spending $100,000 to test these nets. Fishers put a gill net out and also a tangle net and then compare results.

BUT there is a problem: Results show new nets may not be as efficient and so the state answer??? EXTEND amount of fishing time allowed netters!!!

It never ends: there must be a tremendous amount of political pork finding its way to Olympia in favor of netters.

I bet we're going to see huge PR putting a favorable spin on how these new nets solve the problem and so it's okay to net now. What a shame our state follows this direction.
