How's your catch rate been using natural bait wraps of sardine or herring vs. the newer artificial butters and gels?

I always wrap kwikfish when fishing for kings. Not only does it make the fish "eat" the plug instead of just biting it, the extra weight slows the plug down to a speed that the kings like better. Without the wrap the plug is a little too frantic. Sometimes I will add something extra to the sardine after it is on the plug. Another hint is to keep rotating your plugs with fresh wraps, don't let them soak behind the boat for hours on end.

I use wraps all the time on the Nooch. I have put on the gels but no luck.
