Sunday I was down on a zipperlip river towards the washington coast and was fishing for silvers. They were blasting up through riffles all day long that were 2 inches deep. Unreal to watch. The dozen fish I caught were on spinners, plugs and seps spoons. WHY DONT THEY BITE EGGS?

When you are on your way to the bedroom with sex on your mind do you stop and grab a bite? Hell no!! and I'll bet you'd probaly take a swipe at some little punk that got in your way! Think about it.

Think I was on the same river that afternoon. Did you see a Willie drift boat go by with 2 guys in it? I think I had my cowboy hat on.

Those fish will not bite when moving but they will when they stop. find the spot where they cluster up before going over the rif or when they get over, sometime they will hold behind a log or rock or something. that is when they will hit eggs. but you got the right idea with spinners and plugs. get on those flats and get them things in their face. they will hammer a spinner. We got 3 in the boat and lost a few others. one was when I beached it and just picked it up to put it in the cooler and it flipped out of my hnad and into the water. I was on my knees scrambling trying to get it but it got away. nice 10# crome hen gone in a flip!

oh well maybe another time.\\dcrzfitter

It's interesing that you bring that up. I had the same problem on Sunday. I don't think we were on the same river though. But my experience was exactly the same. The fish were on the move, but they WOULD NOT even look at eggs. Got 4 on spinners. I don't think it was you unless you were talking to me about the Winter Steelhead fishing and the size of the fish? Was it you? Interested to know. There was a guy there that seems to be fishing everywhere I am fishing... must know the good spots...and...he was talking to me about how they wouldn't bite bait. Just wondering if we talked.
The fish were moving so fast I couldn't even keep up with them. Lots of them. That's what I think is they have sex on thier mind!!!
But get something in thier face like a spinner or wart, and hold on! Seems to aggrevate them. see ya around(if it was you)

try lures that insight an aggression like plugs with rattles, particularly redish plugs.

Good take Chaser! - Although these days, when I'm on my way to spawn if I happen by a lemon marang pie it does give me pause to consider.

HEY WIGGLE WART that was me the one you had talked to keith and james, me keith, that's my favorite winter steelhead river as I said and that winter fish will never leave my head that I had seen that day 28-30 pounds and see him swim back into the deep and have my buddy make a cast and get a bite and pull a 8 pounder out. Those stupid little agressive wild fish. Never let the big ones to the eggs. Wiggle wart have you fished much else this week, james and I were on the north fork yesterday and hooked 6 chinook from 8-35 pounds and no silvers just jacks again. I HATE JACKS!!!!!!!!!!!!! Will not stay off of the eggs.... Call me or email of you want to fish. 3606003113

Old age? Chaser, I said I was 51 going on 31. Not 81. Things don't stop working until .... well, when do they stop you "old" guys? ... Ya Hawk, I know you can have your cake and eat it too ..... nevermind. Back to fishing.

HEY STEELHEADER 1, I thought that your story sounded too much like the situation for it to be not you. That's funny....we meet again!.....and in here of all places! Anyway...I haven't been fishing this week at all because I got my hours switched at work. I've been working days lately but I think I talked my boss into putting me back on nights, starting next week. THANK GOD... i'm going crazy not being able to get out and fish! Actually, now that I bring up work...my brother and I were talking and were wondering where the heck you two work....??? You seem to be always off! Swing? Part time? Anyway....hopefully get out Sunday.....don't know where yet. See ya around.

Wiggle wart, I work at **** hannah dealerships I'm a finance manager there, and james is a contractor so he never has to work. Anyways any second of the day away from work is fishing, if you know what I mean.. The river I seen you on should really be getting good about right now for silvers, if we could only get just a little shot of rain, and not like last time. This time most of the smuck from the bottom of the river has cleaned out with the first rain. So the next rain should only bring the river up and not make it to dirty that way the fish won't have the water color cover to keep moving and maybe they will hold up where I seen you casting the wiggle warts. Stay in touch let me know... Email at stlhdr1@hotmail.com
