Never been a serious plugger(egg slinger till I die!!!!!! ) however, I do see the merits of it in certain applications and am looking for the right rod to do the job. Cost is somewhat of an issue and I have targeted 3 rods in particular.

I will be targeting wild winter steelhead, silvers and chums.

The rods are:

Lamiglas hot shot G1336-T 7'6" 1pc 8-17lb.

Lamiglas hot shot magnum G1330-T 8' 1pc 10-20lb.

GLoomis MBR941C 7'10" 1pc 10-17lb.

Comments and experiences?.....yays and nays? Any thoughts would be appreciated as I know many of you are pros here.

For steelies, I run Loomis HSR981's myself and am very happy with them.

I set a buddy up with the MBR's last year, and they make an excellent alternative to save a few $$$.

A couple of my pennies ...

Gotta go with BOB, the 981 is the #1 plug rod out of our shop.

Actually, I have a Demo IMX HSR 1021C that was just used 1 weekend.... $250... I had three now I am down to one. Wonderful looking rod, looks brand new.
