Bought new 1984 or 85, use 1 year for summer run. Changed my choice of level wind reels to left hand retrieve. $125.00...... PayPal or cash A 1141 rod and this reel would be a heck of a "light weight combination"

The reel pictured, was the 1st model of this design. Later Shimano reels could be purchased left or right handed BUT that said there are still more right handed than left handed reels, in any reels you see advertised.

I always thought those reels are under valued for vintage reels. Great eye appeal.

I have the very rare 100EX, first bait casting reel designed for ultralight fishing, different color, a smoke grey, a lighter built spool, but same capacity, and a selector switch on the side plate to turn the ultralight function on, or off. Same wood knobs.

My very first purchased reel. Tied and sold a lot of fly orders to be able to purchase it mail order from bass pro shops. Lot's of good memories and great Pilchuck steelhead!
