I was filling the tank on my rental car before getting on a plane to return home from San Diego this week and overheard this conversation.

An older gentleman that appeared to work for a utility company (lift truck) was doing his best Cliff Calvin impersonation in explaining what really happened in the Hawaii missle alert mishap to a co-worker.

According to him there was a missle fired, but it was shot down by an Israeli sub that was on patrol in the area.

This was a proven "fact" because the missle alert also supposedly appeared on the TV screen during a basketball game that wasn't connected to the official warning alert network. Meaning the alert was not an accident, it was the real thing.

He said there is now a huge conspiracy to cover up the truth of what really happened.

So what do your sources say?

I heard there was more than one shooter.

Israel only has 6 submarines...not even sure they have that capability.

This one is easy. There are exactly ZERO anti-missile defense systems for any sub on the planet. Subs are for attacking, not defense. We can launch ballistic missiles from subs, sure, easy enough....but nothing exists that can then intercept an already launched missile. Hitting a missile in the air with another missle is about the hardest thing possible that any military can do. We, the USA, can barely do it with land based THAAD.

And don't come back with any bullchit that there is some grand system out there that we just don't know about Rich.

I'm not sure about this whole thing, but I did read or watch somewhere that there was an identical alert at the same time some region in Japan.

I think the Russian anti aircraft systems can target and hit some missiles.

I actually tried to research where the guy got the info, but there was nothing I could find online. I just wanted to see who was putting the theory out there, to this guy it was fact though.

There was an alert in Japan right after the one in Hawaii, it was retracted right away and wasn't an official alert.

I'd think a fair assessment would be to find, target and shoot down a B2 Spirit or F22 Raptor.

When that happens, that might impress me with Russia's anti-aircraft abilities.

To liven things up a bit, the B2 should be armed with a nuke, dropped at an undisclosed location in Russia if they fail. Same with the F22, except maybe just a really smart 2,000lb. bomb.

the Yugoslavians shot down an F 117 in 1999 with a Russian/Soviet S-125 Neva system... which is faster, more agile, and has roughly the same ceiling as the B2S....

so its definitely possible...

the Raptor tho, little tougher, but that same system shot down an F16 the same year, so i guess its still possible...

but, knowing the US, they would send in F35s and the pilots would pass out from lack of oxygen....

And why would you compare an F-16 to an F-22?

O'Grady's F-16 was a sitting duck. He never knew he was totally locked on and skull fvcked until it was too late. Pretty sure an F-15 would have just hit full afterburner and shot straight up to the moon to avoid the missile. They are like a flying tennis courts propelled by two massive rockets/engines.

Actually, so was the F-117. It was more of a "oops. Guess we didn't think anyone would use outdated low-frequency radars these days."

Unless Russia is firing a magical stealth surface to air missile at an F-22, my money is on the Raptor detecting and evading the missile and continuing on with its mission.....

Not overly positive about the B2 though.......

No comment on the F-35's. Oh sure, so their are few minor bugs. Those will get worked out......when the next generation of fighter will be proposed to replace them.

I learned a long time ago not to argue with math and physics. If math says there are 13 dimensions, then there are. And maybe one of those 13 dimensions is the gnome dimension, and the other is the bigfoot dimension. The latest, most accepted, “theory of everything” is string theory. Which only equates or works mathematically in a 13 dimension universe.

The work being done at LIGO at Hanford is attempting to prove this theory. Scientists have always wondered why, of the four forces, gravity is so much weaker than the other three. They are trying to prove that gravity waves exist across the multiverse while the other three are contained within our universe.

Think of us as a fish in a pond. No real way for us to prove anything exists outside of that pond unless we can show that waves we observe are created by some force outside of the pond. Of course in this scenario frogs could be trans dimensional gnomes.

Rich may be wrong on a lot of things but at least he has the balls to challange the group think path we are all being led down.
