Ultra High Molecular Weight Polyethylene - UHMW, a common grade of sheet plastic that is used typically for high wear surfaces. I believe, for instance, that the wear plates on the pilings that the ferries rub up against while at the docks are UHMW. You can buy it at plastic supply houses in various thicknesses and up to 5'X10' sheets.

Yup, it's slicker than snot, will last up to ten years of heavy use, and nothing in the world will stick to it! Laird plastics on Industrial Way downtown Seattle has it.

I have a wood boat, which is for sale on this site by the way. It is screwed into the bottom, into the keels and chines. My experience is limited to wood. I can't imagine getting this stuff to stick to any surface with anything other than screws. UHMW does expand and contract at a much higher rate than wood or aluminum, so get your sheet warm in the sun, with your boat inside in the shade before you attach it, or it will be an irregular surface in the summer warmth.

Willie plug welds it on the bottom in a 130 locations. They counter bore 130 holes and use tapered washers to plug weld it to the bottom. Its the slickest stuff Ive ever seen on a boat. It was worth the $650.00.
