After waiting what seemed like an eternity the main stilly finally opened for chums, I like to fish the stilly for a couple of reasons, first it's only a few minutes from my house not the forty-five to an hour that the sky is. Second it usally has a good run of chums, as I've said before these are one of my favorite fish to catch. All this in mind I headed down to the river this morning only to find it so dirty that you were lucky to have six inches of visability. A few fish rolling around but not much hitting, looks like it's back to the sky tommorrow.

I honestly can't remember the last time I saw the main fork of the Stilliguamish being anything but chocolate milk. I drive by it all the time on my way to the Sauk and I am always digusted to see the main and lower North Fork looking like unflushed toilet water. My friends and I refer to that river as the "Siltaguamish".

Be deceived, be discouraged, give up and go fish elsewhere...leave all those untouched steelies for me! Most of the Stilly is relatively shallow, and fish spook easy when the water's clearish...color however is cover, and I've hooked quite a few fish in water that looked like chocolate milk. I hope the Corps doesn't knock all the color out of the N. Fork when they get around to the reroute they've planned...

What re-rout are you talking about? I'm curious.
