Man...the tribes have got to be jumping for joy.
I don't officially bet on sports any longer but I'm seriously thinking about coming out of retirement if Washington decides to play ball.
On a side note, here's a pretty easy way to make $10 grand or whatever. I used to do this back in the 90's before they sent all books offshore (and I don't do Vegas).
Here's the play:
The first 2 weekends of college football are anyone's guess really. It's seriously like Christmas morning for free money BUT you must do your pre-season homework (the interwebz makes that easy). Those first two weeks are when REALLY GOOD teams play REALLY bad non-conference opponents and almost nobody knows what each of the teams are working with. Ohio State v. Northwest Popcorn state if you will. OSU is going to win, but by how much?
Only bet on the super obvious mismatches and never on a game that has any doubt. Look for home games with top teams that are returning a minimum of 3/5 o-linemen and a QB with at least some previous playing time and also had a good team turnover margin from the previous season. This team is a team that is going to consistently put the ball in the endzone all game long. Bet the game over, 1st or 2nd half over. Parlay more or less that same bet with 3 - 6 other games, put down $500 and proceed to collect money. There are variations on the bet. If you know a team had a slow fall or is really talented, but doesn't start fast - then pick the second half over while they get warmed up in the first half. It's the start of the season, so the rust needs to come off. How many times have we seen a top team only up a score or two at halftime and then puts up 45 in a 2nd half walk away? About 43 times every Saturday.
Make this bet for exactly the first two weekends of the season and then stop! By week 3, Vegas has figured all of the teams out and the lines are solid. Christmas day has past until the following season.
I can have these (2) bets researched & planned out with maybe 2 - 3 hours total research over the summer. Then all you have to do is note team updates during fall camp. If the stud QB breaks his leg, scratch that team off your list.
Shhhhh....and your welcome. Name your new boat after me.
