I have always heard about white and pink jigs doing really well, I was wondering if anyone has ever tried a white corkey and yarn with eggs since these would be realitively the same colors that work well with jigs. Has anyone ever tried this and had success? or tried it and not?

While I don't fish a corky and eggs much anymore. The white clown corky was always a favorite ... worked very well with a dab or cerise yarn with bait in the slower stuff, just fine w/o when picking pockets. Good luck!

Small red corky with white yarn is a good combo for winter steelies.

When I was fishing to the Quilcene this year I kept on catching chums(on accident) in the mouth with just white yarn. I like using white warn it is my second favorite color of yarn to use. tight lines.

A small glo corky and pink yarn has worked very well for me for both silvers and steelhead. I have caught fish in places when others are not.

Should you use a specific colored hook with a corky and yarn?

Rookie Fisher, you don't have to have a certain color of hooks for these fish it's more like the size of hook you use to match your corkie size. The key to these fish or any other fish is presentation. My suggestion would be to read a few books out on the market that will help you greatly! I just picked up the spoon fishing for steelhead by Bill Herzog. I also have the drift fishing for steelhead by Bill Herzog. These books are great and I learned allot from them. Check it out and log some hours because you are in for a life long ride as soon as you hook your first steelie, trust me. It's kinda like CRACK for fisherman, you know! Hope this helps, tight lines!
