I heard part of a newscast, I believe it was this last Saturday night, about hundreds of salmon carcasses dumped in two locations in an East King County creek. The hens had been stripped of their eggs. I expected to hear more about it on the news or in the paper, but I can't find a thing about it. Did anyone hear what the details are and if they caught the people responsible?

The fish being dumped may be part of several carcass dumping progams now found to be beneficial to our streams.

I know the group "Fish First" is looking for volunteers to help collect carcasses from hatcheries and transport them to freezers for distribution to streams later this winter and to transport carcasses to local streams.

If anyone is interested to help in the Woodland, WA area contact Dan at 360-247-5255 .
He is looking for 4 to 8 volunteers to help on Wednesdays and some Saturdays.

I'm familar with the carcass program, but I didn't think they just back up to a spot on a creek and dump truckloads of dead salmon in one spot do they?

Gill net and strip eggs for market. Discard salmon meat that isn't worth as much as the eggs. Geez, I wonder who would do that? Hmmmm, could it be, the tribes? Naaah, they would never do something like that.

Went to the green last friday and saw about 50 dead salmon dumped in the river. I am not sure were they came from but they were virtually dumped on top of each other. Was kind of disturbing seeing all of these dead fish in the river. Most were fin clipped but many were not and most had been gutted. Something strange is definitely occuring.

Some volunters are just dumping fish in one spot, A lot less work, they are not cutting the tails off as instructed also.
Remember a half a job is no job.
Lets do it right or dont do it.
Thank You.
