I'll be hunting the late muzzleloader season for my first time this year. I recently injured my foot so I was unable to hunt the general rifle elk season. I know asking for hunting info is like pulling someone's teeth but, any info. will help.

Thakns!

FreeDrifter, what area is that? I will be going somewhere over by area 505 for the late hunt if my friends ever get there act together. I have never been elk hunting on the west side. If these people don't pan out I would be willing to maybe hook up and make a trip! I was planning on leaving early on the 24th and stay somewhere through the 27th. I have to work on the 28th. What do ya say!

I don't muzzle load, but have bow hunted this area,I think it gets a fairly heavy bit of hunting pressure,we always saw a lot of animals...good luck Os.

Why the Coweeman? That is a big unit and if you have not put some time in scouting you may have a hard time finding the elk. also it does get hit pretty hard. It is like the Willapa Hills area - big, good numbers of elk, but they have alot of room to roam.

If your going out blind there are some smaller units down that way with good concentrations of elk and some big a** bulls.

Good luck - I had some stuff come up and had to sit out elk this year - That was painful, let me tell you..
