Can someone tell me where to get information what what salmon runs come in on SW Washington Rivers, and when? I would like to try some of my famous "distance catch and releases" but have no idea when and what is coming up.

Hey Angler...that's an easy one! The Washington Dept. of Fish and Wildlife regulations pamphlet, "Fishing in Washington" (the regs book) can be used to find which rivers in your area should have fishable numbers of salmon in them. The state only opens rivers to salmon fishing when there is a run in progress, so just look for the SW Washington rivers in your area and note the salmon openings in the regs pamphlet...it's that easy. Some rivers have a good run available on opening day, while others will have the run peak later in the opening period. As far as which rivers are hot exactly at a given moment...that's a lot more tricky and varies depending on run strength, weather, ocean conditions, etc...meaning...you don't really know till you go try them from year to year.
