Metzlar's park can be a good spot if the indian fish come back this year, which they are suppose to. Flaming Geyser park is another spot that produces well.

that's where I usually fish and do okay, but I've never fished the lower part by Kent. Was just wondering which is better.

The hatchery fish tend to blast through the lower parts unless the river is low and cold. Another spot that produces some fish is the soos creek area.

There isn't any hatchery on the green. The closest thing to a hatchery are the imprint ponds at the headworks.

The one run by the muckleshoots is next to metzlers and the state one is up across the river from palmer kanasket state park.

oh for crying out loud. the hatchery for winter steelhead (and summer runs) is at Palmer. Right next to Palmer-Kanasket State Park. If you need directions go to Auburn Sports Marine or check the gazeteer. Geese, I think that some people think that the hatchery locations are a big secret or something....or they just didn't know?

Now once you are at the hatchery....there are many many secrets...fish hard and find them...

eric,

I had heard, yet you know how rumors are, that they discontinued Steelhead production at Palmer? What hatchery plants are in the Green are from other facilities, such as reiter or other rearing farms. Fill me in on what you know ,if you get a chance, just curious as to what they are doing down there.

Thanks,
Bryan

The fish are just reared at the ponds at palmer and come from either reiter or tokul creek hatcheries depending on wether they are summer or winter fish. The hatchery at keta creek is expecting winter fish back this year from an indian plant but both the mouth of keta and the area around the rearing pond creek at palmer are closed for 150 feet both upstream and downstream this year and probably from now on, I know they have been keeping an eye on the area around palmer. As for winter fish there have been some caught down low and up to flaming geyser but have yet to hear or see any up above.
