Answers:

Who does the website design and maintenance?

Bob Ball ("the Bob" of Bob's Piscatorial Pursuits) does all of the work on the site, from page design and image production to daily maintenance. Generally, Bob will also be the one replying to most of the inquiries about fishing with us.

I can't get an updated river report, what's wrong??

Normally, we try to update the river reports section every few days. Sometimes, if the rivers appear to be out of fishing shape for an extended period of time, we might skip an update. Occasionally, we just flat run out time to do it in the evening. In many cases though, the page IS updated, but rather than pulling it up from my server, you are likely pulling up a version stored in your browser's cache.

On either Netscape or IE, you can click the 'refresh' or 'reload' button to reload the newer version of the page. Netscape users should always get a new version of the page. For IE users, to make sure that you are always getting a current version of the page, or any web page for that matter, follow these instructions:

  • Internet Explorer: Open your browser. Click on the 'View' How to set IE to always check for a newer version of any webpage.button. Then go to the bottom of this drop-down menu and click on 'Internet Options...'. The upper window on the right will open. In the middle of the box under the 'General' tab, you will see a button under the heading 'Temporary Internet Files' that reads 'Settings' ... click on this 'Settings' button. The lower window on the right will open. Make sure that IE is set to check for newer versions of the page 'Every visit to the page'. Click 'OK', that's it!!

Do you sell advertising on your site??

Yes, we currently offer banner ad space on some of our pages.  Please visit our Advertising Page or contact us for more information! Any of the ad related revenues will be spent solely on advertising / operation of the Piscatorial Pursuits website ... increasing your exposure even more. To see the stats on these pages (and the whole site), click here.

How many hits a day do you get??

Currently (as of 12/01/07), over the past month the site has averaged 8,495 visitor sessions per day, with visitors viewing an average of 3,273 pages per day. For a more detailed look at site statistics, please click here.

Do you have a printed brochure??

Yes we do for our Alaska fishing only. We can send you one if you like, however, many people prefer to browse through the site and print out the pages that they may find of interest. We consider the site to be my online brochure. With close to 200 static pages (and growing!), there is far more information about the available trips / packages on the site than we could ever put in a brochure. And should you ever have a question, an answer is just a mouseclick and a few typed words away!! Or feel free to call us, we'll always be happy to help answer your questions.

How can I print your pages out? The white text does not show up!

On either Netscape or IE, just click on 'File' and then click on 'Print' ... or click on the printer symbol in your toolbar. Netscape users should no problem having the background color print showing white text. IE users, may encounter problems with the white text. If you do Follow these instructions:

  • The screen for setting IE to print the page as you see it.Internet Explorer: Open your browser. Click on the 'View' button. Then go to the bottom of this drop-down menu and click on 'Internet Options...'. Click the 'Advanced' Tab and scroll down to the icon for 'Printing'. Make sure that the box labeled 'Print background colors and images' is checked. Click 'OK' and you should be all set to print our webpages just as they appear on your screen. If you have any problems, just contact us, we'll be happy to help!
