Stoked to finally have a team. Hopefully we can put together a solid team and have a decent first year like Vegas did.

Great name actually and my second choice after Steelhead.
DBS - do you really not know what the Kraken is? Uh...Google? With the Seattle area Scandinavian history, Kraken is pretty much perfect.
The logo needs some work though. Looks like they phoned that one in. Sorry to whichever production graphics director came up with that, but please try again and this next time, please try harder.
Great name though. Pretty stoked for some local slap-puck action.

I forsee every time the Kraken's score a goal on a home game, squid are tossed out on to the ice. On a good game, half the ice in the arena should be stained with squid ink. I approve. Could be worse.....could end up with a name such as "Washington Football" PS. The UW says "fvck you, DC. There is only *one* Washington Football program, and it ain't in DC. Go Dawgs!"

Yes and yes and yes. But Detroit will claim we are ripping them off, because they already do that and have for decades. What else can we toss out there? Salmon? Apples? Dan?

When I saw a headline today saying "Washington's football team to call itself Washington Football Team " I was all, WTF? What's wrong with Seahawks? It's just not my day for team names I guess. Need more coffee.

I reviewed the new logos on the team website and they explain why they are why they are. OK - scratch what I said. I'm good with the look now. At least they didn't make it a cartoon Kraken or something lame like that. It could be a LOT worse I suppose.
Anyway, I'm all for this for Seattle and the state. Good good all around and slap-puck probably is the most exciting, non-stop action team sport to watch on TV. We friggin' need it or at least I do.

How much did Kracken rum pay for this sponsorship? Yes, I like piña coladas and getting caught in the rain. I'm not much into health food, but I'm into champagne.

IDGAF what they call the team. Yes to be certain, but can we toss you out onto the ice for hat trick celebrations? Maybe even...like....little Dan voodoo dolls or something? There's licensing royalties in this yo!

There's licensing royalties in this yo! Maybe if you double in size and strength by then. If you get working on it now, you could possibly achieve that status before the first drop of the puck at center ice. I'm just going to do nothing in preparation and bet that you won't. You seem kinda tied up with chickens and vegetables.

If the name of the arena irritates Trumpanzees then I'm good with it. Incorrect. It's just an awful, awful name. Consider that there were many multiple marketing geniuses at Amazon who went to Ivy League schools and paid hundreds of thousands of education dollars....to....come up with that chit? And some asshat decision maker signed off on it? Really? Look, I'm a forgiving person, but those people need to be triple fired and hung in the town square for all to see. We can burn their bodies for firewood instead of cutting down an old growth tree. Deal?

Seattle was named after Chief Seattle, who was a native American.
IMO - We lost out on a golden opportunity to honor that heritage by naming the new team the "Washington Redskins".

You do know that that name of the arena is for sale right? So you are saying that the arena's name is called "for sale right"? I thought it was called Climate Pledge Arena? I'm confused.

Weird watchIng MLB tonight with a empty stadium, cardboard fans behind the plate and piped in fan noise. Kind of reminds me of the past 17 empty seasons the Mariners have given us. Hopefully the Kraken can do better as a franchise. It would be difficult to be worse...... SF

As usual, I am late to the party. But, in terms of names, there already was a Seattle Steelheads baseball team. I have a hat, rather neat looking.
The Kraken is a mythological beast; steelhead are getting that way.

Especially when the camera shot was from behind the cardboard people. looked like so many headstones. Agree with the rest of your post about Dodgers being stacked. There's almost no one in the lineup that you can pitch around.

If it happens, football is going to be REALLY weird just based on how the game is played. Networks better have that 2 - 3 second delay button handy, because all kinds of F bombs and worse are going to be dropped on prime time.

There was a situation in last nights game where the guy missed a freakin cement mixer and he f bombed all the way up to first base. Instead of ignoring it which they should have, the announcers pointed it out. Just stamp a parental guidance and play ball.

To be fair, calling a baseball game without fans has to be just brutal for the average booth guy. So much dead air between pitches and action, that they better get real baseball guys that can go in depth with stories or just high quality entertainers that can keep people engaged with funny banal crap. I picked up the M's game on radio last night and it was like listening to paint dry. Everyone is doing the best they can I suppose. They'll get it figured out and if not, oh well, there are bigger issues in the world today...
